For One More Day
02.32 am and I'm still typing away. One of the rarest nights I'd managed to stay up late. The past few days of civilian life had been great. Enjoying the freedom thoroughly. Somehow the feeling of abhorrence for army gets stronger when you are in the civilian world for too long.
Anyway, finally tried KFC's A.M Platter breakfast today. Was deciding between Mac's Big Breakfast Deluxe and KFC's, eventually decided on the latter since I''ve never tried it before.
Definitely prefer KFC's Hashbrown as compared to Mac's. KFC one's thicker (packed with more potatoes) and it's less oily. Sometimes eating hash browns from Macdonalds feels as if you're biting a piece of deep fried oil crust.
The oven-baked biscuit was pretty good too. Crispy on the outside, moist and fluffy on the inside. Can feel the tinge of honey and maple taste in the oven-baked goodness.
Not forgetting the egg tarts that have already gained itself much popularity.
I still remember the first time I tried egg tarts at a fast-food restaurant was during the Shandong Trip in J1. The fast food outlets over at China offer much more variety of food as compared to our local branches. Like they had peach pies and curry nuggets at their Mac outlets and passion fruit egg tarts over at KFC. Really awesome stuff!
I just realized it isn't a very wise thing to blog about food at such wee hours. Just makes you feel damn hungry!
